Chicago artist Adam Siegel,
known for his striking abstract works, the son of
two well-known photographers.
He followed in their footsteps as a photographer,
but in 1991 switched his
medium to painting. His work has been shown in some
of the top galleries in New York and Chicago, and
includes a permanent installation
of a large-scale digital image at 600 North Michigan
Avenue and the Sept. 11 memorial collaborative exhibition, "The
Path of Remembrance," at Chicago's Museum of Contemporary
Art. Siegel strives to balance oppositional energies in his work,
such as those of the child versus the architect and the artifice
of creating art that defies nature's processes. Siegel keeps
a studio in Wicker Park's Flat Iron Arts Building.
